Keeping in touch

The TouchPoint Team is here to support older Australians who are physically isolated as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

TouchPoint is a ’friendship by phone’ service where our team of staff keep in regular contact with our existing clients and help new people find the support they need. Being apart doesn't have to mean being alone.

Here's what to expect as part of this service;

Friendship by phone: It really is as simple as it sounds!! Our clients are just loving getting a phone call from a friendly voice, offering time for a chat, to talk about their family, their iso-life and to see if we can help in anyway.

Snail mail, filled with love: We are going old-school and writing encouraging notes on postcards to send to clients at home or in residential care facilities.

Isolation boredom busters: Games, books, puzzles, magazines and/or newspapers delivered direct to the door. We are compiling these care packs to alleviate physical isolation by combining a book, a puzzle and some magazines to deliver to the front porches of our clients.

Transport to necessary appointments, in safety: We are here to continue to serve our clients by getting them to vital appointments.

Shopping By List on your behalf: We are providing 'Shopping by List' for our clients to ensure that they stay safe at home but still get everything they need and want.

Other Services: We can also help you navigate to receive other services such as domestic assistance and home and garden maintenance through our teams.

Applying on someone else's behalf

You may be aware of a friend or family member that needs an extra helping hand right now that you're simply not able to care for fully due to your own circumstances. In these cases, we would ask that you send your loved one our phone number or this web page to contact us for themselves as a first option, or obtain their permission to complete the form below on their behalf.

If, however, you don't know your nominated person well enough (you may be a well-wishing neighbour) or are unable to gain permission but believe they need assistance, you can print out our flyer to leave in their door (or tucked under the mat) or call us directly on (08) 9379 1944.
